Chronic Bladder Infections

Suffering from chronic urinary bladder infections? Cranberry juice is an effective treatment option when used at the onset of infection.  Components in cranberry juice have been shown to reduce the ability of the bacteria (E. coli) to adhere to the lining of the bladder and urethra, therefore preventing UTIs.   But remember that most cranberry juices on the market contain 1/3rd cranberry juice mixed with water and sugar. Since sugar has a detrimental effect on the immune system, use of a sweetened cranberry juice is therefore not recommended. Organic unsweetened cranberry juice is preferred, or the alternative cranberry juice extract supplements.  Be sure to talk to your Naturopathic Doctor about best options for your health.
